“Grass roots football is a subject close to all our hearts and this event recognises the huge amount of work which is undertaken by thousands of coaches and voluntary football people across every level of the game.

“I am very fortunate to have played and managed at a professional level over many years but we should never forget that the strength of our game in this country lies in the very broad base at grass roots level.

“I’m delighted to be able to put something back into the game.”

Grass Roots Football LIVE Event Director Steve Chittenden: “To have an ambassador of Harry Redknapp’s pedigree and experience is a great coup for the event.

“Harry is one of the most successful managers of his generation and he has always retained an incredible enthusiasm for the game.

“He will be a tremendous asset to the event and we are delighted to have him on board.”
