Loads to see and do at the Grass Roots Football Show
As the full time whistle blows on The Grass Roots Football Show, we look back on some of this year’s highlights which had something for every football fan…

With over 11,000 people in attendance throughout the three days, The Grass Roots Football Show was packed full with coaches, players and fans, all united by their love for the beautiful game.
There were a whole host of famous football coaches in attendance, including Iain Dowie, Peter Taylor, Chris Hughton and Graham Taylor. Our fantastic line up of experts shared their knowledge and advice with our visitors in the packed out Main Arena, which hosted training sessions and demonstrations covering all aspects of football coaching.
There were lots of opportunities to get autographs and have photos taken with our top list of famous football faces, including event ambassador Robbie Savage, ex Manchester United, Coventry City, Aston Villa and England star Dion Dublin and Sky Sports News presenters Charlotte Jackson and Vicky Gomersall.
The ‘Beat The Stars’ competition proved a real hit, as guests could win the chance to take on one of our famous presenters in an exciting football challenge. The competition saw some of our lucky winners take on (and beat!) Robbie Savage on FIFA ’11 and even earn a very respectable draw against Dion Dublin in the Crossbar Challenge.
The Feature Area was packed out each day, with lots of interactive games and challenges for visitors of all ages to take part in. Whether it was bit of friendly competition playing FIFA ‘11 in The EA Sports Zone, the chance to try out the latest craze in BodyZorbing or pick up some top new skills to impress your mates from world football freestyler Billy Wingrove, there was loads to see and do.
Fans of local sides Birmingham City, Aston Villa, Coventry and Wolves were also lucky enough to watch representatives from each club take part in a Masters 5 a side tournament.
Some of our lucky visitors also won corporate hospitality tickets at Old Trafford, which were kindly donated by The Coaching Manual.
So that’s it for another fantastic year at The Grass Roots Football Show – thank you to all those that attended and we look forward to seeing you back at The Grass Roots Football Show 2012!
