Something for everyone at the Grass Roots Football Show
As the full time whistle blows on The Grass Roots Football Show, we look back on some of this year’s highlights which definitely had something for everyone…
With over 11,000 people in attendance throughout the three days, it didn’t matter whether you were a coach, player, supporter, spectator or a parent wanting to bring along your son or daughter for a fun day out, there was lots to see and do for everyone at The Grass Roots Football Show.
The Main Arena played host to some fantastic technical sessions and coaching demonstrations led by the likes of Iain Dowie, Peter Taylor, Chris Hughton and Graham Taylor. Players of all ages and abilities were also given the chance to be trained by some of the leading football academy coaches in The Football League Community Coaching Arena and The Precision Training Arena.
The FA Theatre hosted a number of fantastic panel discussions and Q&A sessions, which saw the likes of event ambassador Robbie Savage, top sports psychologists Bill Beswick and Tom Bates and ex pro’s Dion Dublin and Paul Elliott answer some great questions from our packed out audiences.
There were lots of opportunities to get autographs and have photos taken with our top list of famous football faces, including Robbie Savage, ex Manchester United, Coventry City, Aston Villa and England star Dion Dublin and Sky Sports News presenters Charlotte Jackson and Vicky Gomersall.
The Feature Area was bursting with interactive games and challenges to keep our visitors busy – You could take on your mates at The Kellogs Crossbar Challenge, play a game of FIFA ’11 in the EA Sports Zone and watch or even take part in the Birmingham heats of the National Street Soccer Showdown.
World class football freestyler Billy Wingrove kept crowds entertained for hours with his portfolio of skills and tricks, as he taught the audience some of his famous football moves.
And whilst all this was going on, there was still room for the busy exhibition floor, where visitors could meet with the industry’s top suppliers showcasing the latest innovations in technologies, programmes and supporting materials for coaches of all abilities.
So that’s it for another fantastic year at The Grass Roots Football Show – thank you to all those that attended and we look forward to seeing you back at The Grass Roots Football Show 2012!
